SocratesThen will you say in what things the superior and more intelligent man, by having more, justly gets more? Or will you neither put up with me suggesting them nor say it yourself?
CalliclesBut I’ve been saying it all along. First, as to who the superior are, I don’t mean shoemakers or cooks, but those who are intelligent in the affairs of the city, in how it may be well run; and not only intelligent but brave, able to carry out whatever they have in mind, and who do not flag through softness of soul.
